Plymouth Police on the Lookout for Two Older Women in Pricey Power Tool Heist
These are the stories you simply can't make up.
On October 3, the Plymouth Police Department found itself on the hunt for an unusual pair of suspects: a couple of women described as being “grandmotherly” in appearance.
Instead of a plate of cookies or a knitting project, these two allegedly left West Marine with something a bit more industrial: a Milwaukee M12 Fuel 3/8” Stubby Impact Wrench Kit, valued at a solid $329.
According to police, the duo executed a pretty classic heist setup. The “lady in blue” allegedly played the part of lookout, while the “lady in black” is alleged to have swiftly pocketed the power tool. The pair then made a quiet exit, leaving the store and employees scratching their heads.
Plymouth Police are now reaching out to the community for help identifying these unlikely culprits (whom I'm dubbing the "Granny Grifters") on social media.
If anyone recognizes the women or has any information about their whereabouts, they're encouraged to contact the Plymouth Police Department at (508) 830-4218.
“We are seeking the help of our community in identifying these individuals from a recent shoplifting,” the department wrote on Facebook. “Please call us with any information you may have.”
With a crime story that could easily be mistaken for the plot of a quirky indie film, residents are left wondering: who are these silver-haired sleuths, and why a power tool? For now, Plymouth police remain on the case, hoping for a lead on their unlikely suspects.
