Plymouth’s Squinney’s Pizza Gets Surprise Visit and Review From Dave Portnoy [VIDEO]
Barstool Sports' Picasso of pizza reviews, Dave Portnoy, made a return visit to southeastern Massachusetts recently.
This time, he set his sights on Squinney's Pizza in the historic downtown of Plymouth.
Known for his unfiltered commentary and sharp pizza critiques, Portnoy didn’t hold back when reviewing this Massachusetts bar pie.
A Pie Worth the Trip
The review kicked off with Portnoy standing outside Squinney's, decked out in his signature Mugsy jeans and a pair of sneakers gifted by Celtics star Jason Tatum.
“I’m rocking the Mugsy jeans – good material, little flex; you know I like the pouch,” he quipped, before turning his attention to what really mattered: the pizza.
As the fresh, piping-hot pie arrived, Portnoy’s eyes lit up at the sight of the golden-brown crust, crispy and thin, just the way he likes it.
“This is a good-looking bar pie,” he remarked. “This looks like a Bob Ross pizza painting.”
The Verdict Is In
The first bite seemed to seal the deal. The satisfying crunch impressed Portnoy, though he noted it could have used a tad more crispiness to reach perfection.
“Sometimes it just goes,” he said, and for Squinney’s, it certainly did.
When it came time for the score, Squinney’s walked away with a solid 7.9, which is high praise in Portnoy’s One Bite world. This rating places it among the top-tier bar pies worth a detour if you're in the area.
Fans Eager for More
Portnoy’s visit didn’t go unnoticed. Fans quickly chimed in, recommending other local favorites like A3 Pizza Parlor in nearby Kingston. Unfortunately, A3 wasn’t open during his visit, but Portnoy hinted at a return.
“That day is not today,” he teased, leaving the door open for more pizza adventures in the area.
For now, Squinney’s Pizza stands tall with Portnoy’s seal of approval, making it a must-try for anyone looking to satisfy their pizza cravings. Who knows? You might just catch El Presidente himself on your next visit.
