The judge in the case of South African Paralympian Oscar Pistorius says the defendant is not guilty of the premeditated murder his girlfriend.

After a six and-a-half month trial, a judge in Pretoria said this morning that the state did not prove Pistoirus deliberately acted to kill Reeva Steenkamp.

Steenkamp was shot on Valentines Day 2013 in the couple's home.

Pistorius claims he thought she was an intruder.

The judge has yet to decide on the remaining charges in the case.
