He was all set to retire just weeks from now, but Andrew McCabe, the assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, suddenly resigned Jan. 29, effective immediately.

This development took place just the day after FBI director Christopher Wray went to Capitol Hill and read the 'bombshell' secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act memo.

The contents of this memo may be made public as early as tonight when the House panel votes on whether or to do so. House Republicans have said the memo details serious abuses of the FISA warrant.
