Opening Your Home to Foster Children [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
State officials say there is a major need for safe and stable foster homes for children here on the SouthCoast.
Lori Pacheco has been a foster parent for two years, welcoming foster children into her home for short-term stays. Lori joins Jim Phillips this week on Townsquare Sunday to discuss her experiences as a foster care parent, and share how you can get involved. She believes her experiences are rewarding for both her and the children who come into her home.
Foster parenting information will be available at the SouthCoast Resource and Craft Fair at Dartmouth High School on Sunday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at the Ryan Ferreira Memorial Craft Fair on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dartmouth Middle School.
Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program heard every Sunday at 6 am on 1420 WBSM. The program highlights organizations and individuals working to make the Southcoast a better place to live. Interview segments are also available on WBSM.com, the WBSM app, and on WBSM TV on YouTube.
If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here. You can also send an e-mail to Jim Phillips at firstname.lastname@example.org.
