One Hospitalized in Lakeville Crash
LAKEVILLE — A major crash on Route 44 in Lakeville last night involving a car and a tractor-trailer truck saw the car driver rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Lakeville Fire Department stated that emergency crews responded just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to the scene.
They arrived to find a car had collided with a semi truck at Route 44 and Millennium Circle.

The driver of the car was rushed to the new trauma center at St. Luke's Hospital that was designated just last week.
According to the fire department, transport time for the patient was reduced by more than 15 minutes, as St. Luke's is more than 10 miles closer to Lakeville than Rhode Island Hospital.
The driver's identity and other details have not been released.
