The long process of building a new Dartmouth Police Station continues on.

At Monday's Dartmouth Select Board meeting, officials gave an update on the project's status. Town Administrator David Cressman says they're still searching for potential sites to build a new station on, along with a new architect.

Currently, the only new location being considered is the Gidley Elementary School, which closed in 2007. However, any other locations would have to be submitted through the Request For Proposals process, which the town plans to advertise soon.

Select Board Chairman Stan Mickelson says he's confident the town will get other offers, and the Police Station Building Committee has already contacted several people for potential sites.
