
OCIB Unit Halts Heroin Delivery Service In North End
Two New Bedford men have been charged in connection with a heroin delivery service in the city's North End.
Members of New Bedford's Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau carried out search warrants Wednesday night at 23 Tallman Street, apartment #12.
Det. Captain Steve Vicente says inside the apartment, Detectives found 41 grams of heroin, cutting agents, scales and packaging materials, and nearly $53,000 in cash.
The occupant, 31 year old Jonathan Rodriguez-Lopez was arrested as he was driving away from his apartment. He's charged with trafficking in heroin and conspiracy.
A passenger in the car, 25 year old Angel Helena, is charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute after police found he was carrying a gram of heroin.
