Norwood Man Charged With Taking “Up Skirt” Photo
Transit police have made what they think is the first arrest under the state's amended "upskirting" law.
Police say 23-year-old Joshua Gonsalves of Norwood was arrested Tuesday after a woman told officers she was at the Forest Hills MBTA station when she saw a hand between her legs holding an iPad with the camera on and pointed up her skirt.
The man boarded a bus and left, but based on the woman's description, he was later found.
Police say Gonsalves told them he heard on the news it wasn't illegal to "take pictures up a girl's skirt."
The state amended Peeping Tom laws in March after the Supreme Judicial Court ruled taking upskirt photos was technically not illegal.
