Municipal leaders from New Bedford and Dartmouth joined officials from the Common Wealth Resource Management Corporation Tuesday at the Crapo Hill Landfill to cut the ribbon for a new waste to energy facility.

The anerobic digestion project enables the landfill to convert food waste into biogas that creates electricity to power the landfill site.

Mayor Jon Mitchell says the technology is further proof of New Bedford's "green energy" accomplishments.....

Commonwealth's Principal Partner Aton Finelli says the technology will increase production of electric power while providing a cost-effective option for businesses looking to dispose of commercial food waste and other organics.
