New Bedford Police: Whiskey Lounge Shooting Likely Accidental
NEW BEDFORD — A shooting at the Whiskey Lounge in New Bedford's North End on Sunday night in which a man sustained non-life-threatening injuries was likely an accident, according to police.
New Bedford Police spokesman Lt. Scott Carola said units responded to the Whiskey Lounge bar at 1669 Acushnet Ave. at around 7 p.m. Sunday for shots fired.
They arrived to find a shooting scene, Carola said.

Shortly after the shooting, a man arrived at St. Luke's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Carola said the investigation is ongoing.
However, he noted that preliminary evidence seems to indicate that the man's injuries were caused by the accidental discharge of a firearm.
