If you tell people enough times, they're start to believe it. Hi Brian from Brian’s Beat.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Monday evening, delivered New Bedford’s quarterly report card. No real surprise here. Repeat:The report card claims the schools are heading in the right direction, but urgent work needs to be done. Let’s see. Do you agree with the urgency plan?

Needs improvement:

  • Monitoring the quality of professional development
  • Analyzing attendance records
  • Gathering data to determine whether referral programs and evaluation of struggling students is working
  • Figuring out why students are coming to middle and high school feeling that they are somehow not connected….

You can't make this stuff up. I get the above courtesy of Kathleen McKiernan's Monday evening article on SouthCoastToday.com

Maybe these kids would feel more connected if the teachers could teach the ABC’s, 123’s, where Asia lies on a map. Feeling disconnected? The state claims things are improving! Aw gee, Tennessee.

Comment below and/or chime into the Educational Focus, this week only, Thursday at 10am. Brian’s Beat, on New Bedford’s NewsTalk Station.
