New Bedford Police Observe Car Stopped in Traffic, Operator Unresponsive

NEW BEDFORD— Officers responded to a motor vehicle that appeared to be stopped in traffic near Lucar Development and Coffin Ave late Sunday evening.

New Bedford Police say they observed an operator who was unresponsive stopped in traffic inside their motor vehicle. Officers believe the operator was under the influence of a substance.

Medics arrived on the scene and the operator was transported to the hospital. Charges have not yet been filed, but police say charges will be forthcoming.
