NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police detectives are investigating two shooting incidents that took place in the city overnight.

Police say that just after midnight, officers responded to a call of shots fired at 78 Tallman Street. Two victims were located, and were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Then shortly after 1 a.m., police responded to another call of shots fired, this time in the area of Maxfield and Emerson Streets. Although there were no victims, police say they did find evidence of shots being fired in the area.

Both incidents are under investigation by the New Bedford Police Major Crimes Division.
