The Fall River man charged with the June 2 murder of a New Bedford man has waived rendition in North Carolina and has been returned to Massachusetts, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said early Thursday.

Daquan Blanchard, 24, is charged with the murder of Adilson Neves, as well as carrying an illegal firearm. He will be arraigned this morning in New Bedford District Court.

U.S. Marshals took Blanchard into custody on June 15, after he was found hiding in the closet of a home in Greenville, North Carolina.

Blanchard is alleged to have shot Neves, 36, of New Bedford on the afternoon of June 2 outside of 67 David Street. First responders arrived on the scene to find Neves suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A co-defendant in the case, Cheyanne Miranda, 31, was arrested in Fall River earlier this month. She is charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.
