A New Bedford man died Wednesday afternoon following a rollover crash on I-195 in Seekonk, according to a press release from Massachusetts State Police.

Shortly before 3 p.m., troopers assigned to the Dartmouth barracks responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on I-195 Westbound at mile marker 2.2 in Seekonk. State Police responded along with the Seekonk Fire Department.

First responders discovered a 2015 Nissan Sentra that had rolled over. The operator, identified as Matthew Beaudoin, 38, of New Bedford, suffered from serious injuries. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Preliminary investigation shows the westbound vehicle left the roadway to the right and rolled over, according to state police. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and Beaudoin was the sole occupant of the Nissan.

The crash remains under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police along with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.
