New Bedford Man Arrested On Drug Charges

A New Bedford man is facing drug charges following a search of his home.

Lt. Amos Melo says that on Tuesday detectives observed 26-year-old Lance Sousa engaging in a drug transaction on Liberty St. and North St.

Detectives then obtained a search warrant for his home at 264 North St., based on statements he made, where they found a small amount of marijuana, packaging materials, a digital scale and $250 in cash.

An additional $120 was found in Sousa's possession.

Sousa was charged with with distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and distribution of marijuana within a school zone.
