New Bedford Man Arrested For Carrying Smith & Wesson Revolver
A New Bedford man is under arrest after police received reports of a man with a gun in the North End of the city.
According to Det. Capt. Steve Vicente, detectives spotted the suspect at the traffic lights at Coggeshall St. and Ashley Blvd. just before 5:30 Thursday afternoon.
Police confronted the man and searched his vehicle, and found a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver in the back seat. The suspect did not have a license to carry the firearm.
Police arrested 35-year-old Michael Teotonio of Bransomb St.
Teotonio is being arraigned today in New Bedford District Court on one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
