Wet Nose Wednesday is here again.

There are so many loving and adorable animals up for adoption on the SouthCoast, and it is our mission to get as many adopted as possible.

We have teamed up with local shelters in the area to get the word out about these sweet animals, and every Wednesday, we shine a light on one lucky animal in hopes of finding them a forever home. This week, we head to Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford where a Jack Russel Terrier mix is patiently waiting to play.

Meet adoptable Joey! Joey is around ten months old and is always up for a good time in the shelter’s play yard.

“He keeps our volunteers entertained,” said Lighthouse.

Joey loves running, and don’t be surprised when he leaps in the air out of sheer excitement.

“Joey can be a bit jumpy when he’s excited but nothing a little consistency can’t fix,” said the shelter.

Joey loves other dogs and wrestling. Lighthouse thinks he would do best in a home with another dog or would be happy to have lots of regular dog pals to meet up with. He would also make a great candidate for doggy daycare.

Joey’s forever family will need to be up for walks and hitting the trails, and he will surely
make an awesome adventure buddy.

Does Joey sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter to schedule a play date.

Meet the Animals of Dartmouth's Don't Forget Us, Pet Us Sanctuary

Just off Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth is an animal sanctuary for livestock that has become home to over 50 animals is just five short years. Whether they arrived because their owners could no longer care for them or they were removed from an abusive situation, Deborah Devlin and Jill Tagino, who run Don't Forget Us, Pet Us sanctuary, take in animals with no where else to go. Clearly, the livestock they care for are very happy to have found a home for the rest of their natural lives.
