New Bedford Health Officials Encourage Residents To Get Flu Shots

The New Bedford Health Department is encouraging local residents to get their flu shot....

That's Andrea Paleologos, the Public Health Nursing Supervisor in New Bedford. She says a flu shot is still the best way to protect yourself from getting the flu.

Mayor Jon Mitchell is following that advice.  He's getting his annual flu shot Thursday afternoon.

The Health Department offers flu shot clinics every Monday and Friday from 1-to-3:30pm in their offices at 1213 Purchase Street. The cost is $5 and recipients should bring their insurance card.
