New Bedford Group Helps Spark Arts Revival [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
The arts community in New Bedford is coming alive once again.
The COVID-19 pandemic certainly impacted the arts in New Bedford in 2020, but with a lessening of restrictions this year, events are starting to pick up.
Watching it all closely is Margo Saulnier, Creative Strategist for New Bedford Creative, a group formed several years ago seeking to enhance the cultural experience in New Bedford for visitors and residents alike.

Saulnier said on this week's Townsquare Sunday that artists in the city did a great job in 2020, finding ways to display their talents in the midst of the pandemic.
Now that many restrictions have been lifted, art exhibits and displays are starting to flourish in New Bedford, like the mural made with plastic bottle caps by artist Erin Meade for the Seaport Art Walk along the city's waterfront, pictured above.
Saulnier said what's happened in New Bedford in many ways has exceeded her expectations from when New Bedford Creative was first formed. She said she's grateful for the support of the city administration and her partners in working to enhance and expand the arts in the Whaling City.
