New Bedford Man Held Without Bail on Dartmouth Firearm and Drug Charges
DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Dartmouth Police arrested a New Bedford man following a multi-week investigation related to a gun being fired in a South Dartmouth neighborhood.
At 9:35 a.m. on February 29, Jermaine Tirado, 38, was arrested for allegedly discharging a firearm that resulted from an alleged argument.
Detectives secured search warrants for Tirado’s house and vehicle, in which they located a 9mm Ruger, ammunition, suspected cocaine, and drug paraphernalia with the distribution.
Tirado was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, assault with a dangerous weapon, and various firearm offenses, including carrying without a license and possession of a large capacity feeding device (handgun magazine).
He was also charged with receiving stolen property under $1,200, reckless endangerment of a child, and possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug (cocaine).
As a result of a dangerousness hearing held on Wednesday, March 6, Tirado is being held without bail for 120 days.
