Are you looking to start a small food concession? The City of New Bedford has an opportunity at the Fort Taber Park Concession Stand.

New Bedford is soliciting proposals to operate and manage a refreshment concession stand at Fort Taber. The proposals for the 2,400 square-foot building can come from private individuals, nonprofit corporations, and/or for-profit corporations.

This proposal would be for a one-year, seasonal agreement “granting the successful Proposer the contract to provide refreshment services at Fort Taber with a city-retained option to extend/add seasonal terms. The agreement is expected to commence on May 1, 2021, and terminate October 1, 2021.” The City reserves an option to extend the concession year and/or add two additional one-year, seasonal terms (2022 and 2023) based on the proposals received and prices agreed upon by the parties.

According to the Request for Proposal document, sealed proposals are due by Monday, February 8 at 1:30 pm, but these proposals will be opened 48 hours later on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:30 pm in order to eliminate the possibility of viral transmission in light of COVID-19. You can submit the proposal to 309 Smith St, New Bedford, MA 02740, only between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm. You can obtain the Request for Proposals by clicking HERE. Proposals must include all of the required documents and strictly follow its instructions.

A site visit is available by appointment from 8 am to 12 pm on Monday, January 25. If one is desired, please email purchasing@newbedford-ma.gov.
