A casino deal in New Bedford is apparently all but dead.

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern, representing KG Urban Enterprises, a company owned by his son, says based on a meeting this week with Mayor Jon Mitchell, there appears to be no reasonable hope of making a deal with the city.

Stern said Mitchell demanded half the Cannon Street site be turned over to the city, and that's something KG Urban won't accept.....

Stern said KG Urban has spent $12 million over the past eight years on architects, lawyers and other experts in putting together a plan for a waterfront casino.

He said it was too late to consider another site in New Bedford.
