Back in June, we listed six spots on the SouthCoast that should be used as filming locations. I don’t know if the folks over at Netflix read the post, but the streaming service is now set to film a movie in Massachusetts this fall.

According to WBZ-TV, Netflix is looking for extras to be in the movie scheduled to film in South Boston and other areas in the state later this year.

Liam Martin of WBZ-TV interviewed Judith Bouley, the woman behind the casting decisions for this secret film. According to Bouley, has “a stunning script, it’s huge, and our stars are unbelievable. But I’ve got to keep it a secret.”

Bouley explained that they’ll need thousands of people to make this project a reality and that everyone is welcome to apply. “All ages, sizes, ethnicities. Netflix believes in diversity, as do I,” she said to Martin.

This casting process will look a little different from others since the COVID-19 pandemic hinders Bouley’s ability to travel and meet with applicants in person, and in a crowd-setting. For this project, which no details have been provided yet, Bouley will be auditioning potential actors via Zoom.

If you think this could be your chance to shine in the spotlight, albeit even as an extra, you can visit JudithBouleyCasting.com to fill out an application. Bouley estimates that filming will take place from mid-November to the end of February. Applicants should expect a call from her team anywhere between now and the end of January.

I'm not sure what the movie will be about, but I have a feeling that Gazelle will want to audition. If he does get cast, it will probably the role of the bouncer. Just a hunch.
