More winter weather is headed for southern New England.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for Block Island, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket for 4 to 7 inches of sleet and snow Wednesday night into Thursday.

Winter weather advisories are in effect for southern Rhode Island, south coastal Massachusetts and coastal Connecticut for 2 to 5 inches of snow.

Lighter snow accumulations are expected north of those areas, with up to 2 inches possible in Providence, and an inch or less in the Boston and Hartford areas.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is warning people to be alert for overloaded roofs as wetter snow, and rain-soaked snow accumulations add more weight. The state said there have been more than 200 collapses or damage to structures since Feb. 9.
