More Black Market Pot

Expect a new law over an old, old war. Multiple leaders in the city of New Bedford are backing a prohibition on synthetic marijuana, like the potpourri and K2. I've never smoked the stuff. I don't want to, however these synthetics are packaged and sold to consenting adults. Adults can make the choice to use these products or not.

A ban on synthetic pot also hurts business. And, biz owners can make a business decision whether or not to sell K2 et al. For government to ban these substances, well maybe they should work on banning GMOs from our food supply. Actually, fully informed adults can make reasonable decisions on what food is best for themselves and their family.

If/when the prohibition starts, expect the drug war to escalate. Why? If there's a market for synthetic marijuana, there will also be suppliers for that demand. I always say ask a dope dealer. See if they can find a supplier of Potpourri or K2. Chances are if they can't today they will tomorrow. Nobody thought banning real marijuana, heroin, cocaine and LSD would lead to a flourishing underground drug economy. Soon, we'll be able to add synthetic pot to that multi-billion dollar black market.
