The "Boston Herald" is reporting that Tagg Romney is considering a run for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by now-Secretary of State John Kerry.

The "Herald" says state Republican leaders are trying to get the 42-year-old son of former Governor Mitt Romney into the race now that former Senator Scott Brown has said he will not run.

Political analysts think the eldest son of the former presidential candidate could quickly gather support due to his name recognition and association with his father's campaigns.  Tagg Romney is a successful venture capitalist who appeared often on the campaign trail during his father's presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012.
