President Donald Trump won precincts in the Democrat cities of New Bedford, Fall River, Taunton. Joe Biden received over 90 percent of the vote in a Dartmouth precinct.

It has been a long time since a Republican candidate for president won a precinct in New Bedford, Fall River, or Taunton. In 2012, Mitt Romney, the former elected governor of Massachusetts, couldn't do what President Trump did in Massachusetts in 2020.

The precinct-by-precinct vote returns are available at the office of William Galvin, the Massachusetts Secretary of State. The database is easy to understand and user friendly to those who want to delve deeper into the information.

Bristol County has interesting results from the 2020 elections for both Democrats and Republicans.

Joe Biden won nearly 94 percent of the 2020 vote in Dartmouth's Precinct 3. That is better than he did in the city of Cambridge and the town of Amherst, both liberal college-based communities. Precinct 3 of Dartmouth is the home of the local University of Massachusetts campus. The precinct has fewer voters these days due to COVID-19 restrictions.

President Trump received an incredible 56 percent of the vote in Precinct F of Ward 1 in the city of New Bedford. In 2012, Romney received only 31 percent of the vote in that precinct. Trump earned 57 percent of the vote in Precinct A of Ward 3 in Fall River this past election compared to Romney, who received just 23 percent of the vote in that same precinct in 2012.

Bristol County was the best Massachusetts county for President Trump in 2020; however, Biden won the county and the whole state.

The precinct-by-precinct results are interesting and they may predict the political future.
