New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell touched on a variety of subjects during his weekly appearance Wednesday on WBSM.

State regulators recently issued draft regulations for recreational marijuana in the Bay State. Recreational usage of pot was approved by voters last year.

The Mayor said he was concerned about marijuana edible products making their way into schools and posing a health risk to kids.

The Mayor also talked about the ongoing negotiations with the City Council on Municipal Health Care Reform. Mitchell wants the Council to adopt a state law where if a city union opposed changes to their current health care plan, the matter would be referred to an arbitrator, in an effort to hold down health care costs.

And with Christmas just days away, Mayor Mitchell urged last minute shoppers to shop Downtown. He says there are still many unique gifts available. The entire interview with the Mayor and Barry Richard is available above.
