Mitchell: Marine Terminal Will Be 28 Acres Of Blacktop

Mayor Jon Mitchell says some people may not be impressed when the $100 million Marine Commerce Terminal in New Bedford's South End is completed. 

Speaking on weekly radio program, the Mayor said the terminal will amount to 28 acres of blacktop.  But that's not all...

Mitchell says components of offshore wind turbines are gigantic and a huge terminal is needed to put together those components. 

The terminal is expected to serve as a staging areas for offshore projects like Cape Wind.
