Several listeners to WBSM's "More Than Just Talk" program on Tuesday called in to congratulate Mayor Jon Mitchell for his administration's work on the Maritime Commerce Terminal planned for New Bedford's South End.  The E-P-A announced this week it had approved environmental permitting for the $100-million project, and the bidding process would begin in a few weeks.  Now that the terminal project is a "go," Mayor Mitchell says he's now working on attracting companies that make parts for wind turbines.

The Mayor says his administration will continue to remain aggressive on the terminal project.  He says Neil Mello from his office, City Solicitor John Markey and Economic Development Director Matt Morrissey were in Boston Tuesday, further discussing the project with state officials.
