A man who founded "Mercy Meals and More" four years ago in New Bedford is this year's winner of the "Sister Rose" award, presented by the Homeless Service Providers Network. 

The network, in a ceremony at the New Bedford Art Museum, recognized Rev. Russ Chamberlain for his dedication to the homeless community. 

Four years ago, Chamberlain began a breakfast program for the homeless, working through Pilgrim United Church. 

Rev. Russ says the program started with $400.  Since that time its served 64,00 morning meals. 

Also honored was Ken Grace of People Acting in Community Endeavors, and realtor Marie Cashman who has worked with the city's Office of Housing and Community Development to place first time homebuyers in renovated properties.
