AHA! Night Brings Indoor Arts and Storytelling to New Bedford
Winter weather is upon us, but that hasn't dampened the spirit of AHA! staffers and partners. There is a full slate of indoor activities planned for February 12 in downtown New Bedford.
AHA! Director Kim Goddard stopped by Townsquare Sunday this week to highlight some of the events.
"We have some exciting indoor things planned for AHA! Night on Feb. 12," Goddard said.

What Is the February AHA! Night Theme?
"The theme for February and March is 'I Am NB-Storytelling,' so we are encouraging our partners to build exhibits and programs around storytelling, through art, spoken word, poetry or music," Goddard said.
Free Activities Planned at the Zeiterion
With the re-opening of the Zeiterion, AHA! has rekindled its partnership with the historic Performing Arts Center. "On Feb. 12, all four floors of the Zeiterion will be open to the public, free of charge," Goddard said. "Each of those floors will feature activities for people to enjoy."

Among those activities are an open mic session, a rehearsal of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, music in the new speakeasy, and a living museum of women artists by seventh graders from Our Sister's School, and more.
Whaling Museum Hosts Storytelling Exhibit
The New Bedford Whaling Museum will also be a major venue on AHA! Night with the program "Vestibules: Stories of Water, Memory, and Resilience." The museum is offering exhibits in different areas of the museum, where visitors can engage with costumed historical figures and contemporary artists, helping the public explore how maritime and ecological histories continue to shape the understanding of our area.
Art Museum Offers Kids Activities and Film Preview
The New Bedford Art Museum will be busy on the 12th, offering fun activities for children, plus a new "mystery" exhibit to be unveiled in The People's Gallery. Then at 8 p.m., hear from New Bedford Film Festival founder Ethan de Aguiar with a sneak peek of selections for the 2026 festival.
