Melania, Not Bette Midler, Is the American Dream [OPINION]

I generally don't waste my energy contemplating, never mind writing, about what the elites in Hollywood think about anything. But from time to time, something is said by one of these nitwits that begs a response.

First Lady Melania Trump delivered a moving and passionate speech from the newly-remodeled Rose Garden on Tuesday night as part of the Republican National Convention. Melania Trump is among the most elegant, classy, and intelligent women to represent America as its First Lady. Melania Trump is the American dream.

Born in 1970 in Novo Mesto, Melanija Knavs grew up in Sevnica, in the Yugoslav republic of Slovenia. Melania was secretly baptized as a Catholic, as the communists were atheists and did not tolerate the free practice of religion. Before leaving Slovenia for a career in modeling and fashion, Melania attended the University of Ljubljana. She is said to speak five languages fluently.

In 2001, Melania became a permanent resident of the United States. She married Donald Trump in 2005 and obtained U.S. citizenship a year later. According to Wikipedia, Melania Trump is "only the second First Lady after Louisa Adams born outside the U.S., the first one to be a naturalized citizen and the first whose native language is not English."

During Melania's Rose Garden speech on Tuesday night, several Hollywood types I'm not familiar with tweeted the usual inane comments you'd expect from them. One referred to Melania as an "a--hole" while another called her a "pig." It's par for the course.

Bette Midler, though, said something that gave me pause and made me wonder about the legitimacy of the whole big tent thing the lefties claim as their own.

"Oh, God. She still can’t speak English," Midler tweeted. But then there was this from the Divine Miss M: "Get that illegal alien off the stage!" How revealing.

Bette Midler is a racist and a xenophobe, pure and simple. So are most of the elitists who claim to care. They really don't, you know, and Midler's vile remarks make that clear.

Just as the elitist Democrats like to think they own Black America, they masquerade as defenders of the immigrant when in reality they hold disdain in their hearts for both groups.
