Another day of freezing temperatures means another day of commuting woes for Boston area residents who take the MBTA to work.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says a downed light pole at the JFK/UMass Red Line station is causing delays for shuttle buses.

The MBTA is asking riders to avoid the station and to use the commuter rail from Braintree and Quincy Center stations instead.

All branches of the Green Line are experiencing delays because of a disabled train.

Some commuter rail lines are also experiencing delays due to frozen switches and signals.

The MBTA suspended all rail service Tuesday to clear snow and ice from the tracks left by a series of storms, while Wednesday's commute was marked by long delays and crowded trains.
