The Mayor's Gallery in the Ashley Room at City Hall was unveiled last night. The meeting room is now adorned with contemporary art pieces by local artists, which will be featured for the next three months. Mayor Jon Mitchell says art has been a staple in New Bedford, and that's not changing any time soon.

The gallery features photographs by John Robson, an interactive piece by John Magnan, collages of city landmarks by Alison Wells, and a mixed media piece of Butler's Flat by Ray Khalife. Those pieces are on display for another three months, when new pieces by other local artists will be featured.
