Many large cities across the world are still on alert after Tuesday's terror attacks in Brussels.

New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell says just because the Whaling City doesn't have towering buildings or a bustling transportation system doesn't mean we can't be a target.

Mitchell asks residents to be vigilant, and report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities. "If you see something out of the ordinary, don't hesitate to speak up," says Mitchell. "The good news might be it's nothing. Well, at least you know it's nothing."

Mitchell says the New Bedford Police Department is trained to remain in contact with federal counterterrorism agencies, especially during times of heightened threat levels.
