ROCHESTER (WBSM) — The victim in last night’s fatal shooting in Rochester has been identified.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the victim was Justin Doberck, 41, of Mattapoisett.

Rochester Police responded to 259 New Bedford Road on the night of April 7 for a report of gunshots. The police department said the report came in at 9:34 p.m.; the D.A.’s Office reported it as coming in at 10:31 p.m.

Officers arrived to find Doberck suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The resident of the home, Cody Perry, 34, was taken into custody and charged with homicide.

According to Rochester Police Chief Robert Small, the shooting was the result of an argument between the two men.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Rochester Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
