Massachusetts’ Most Popular Grocery Store Isn’t What You’d Expect
Here on the SouthCoast, we have a wide range of options when it comes to grocery shopping. From Shaw’s to Trucchi’s, Save A Lot to Price Right, Lees Market to Seabra, and even Aldi, there's no shortage of places to stock up on essentials.
For many, including myself, Market Basket often tops the list as the “go-to” store for savings.

The same goes for our neighboring states of Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maine, where Stop & Shop also reigns supreme.

For those residing in New Hampshire, though, Market Basket still holds the crown as the most popular grocery store in that state. Meanwhile, on a national scale, Kroger dominates as the favorite grocery chain, with 11 states naming it their top choice.
So, while Market Basket remains a beloved option here on the SouthCoast, the data suggests that Stop & Shop has captured the hearts — and carts — of most Massachusetts shoppers.
