Massachusetts Governor Healey Trolled By New Hampshire’s Ayotte
While an "outraged" Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey tries to deal with an illegal immigrant crisis that involves headline-grabbing federal enforcement operations and a showdown with Trump Administration border czar Tom Homan, her neighbor to the north continues to rub Healey's nose in it.
As Healey was demanding the release of an 18-year-old illegal alien detained by ICE agents over the weekend while driving to volleyball practice, federal agents were announcing Operation Patriot, a weeks-long series of raids and arrests that netted nearly 1,500 immigrants in the country illegally, most of whom had convictions or charges of violent crimes.

The chaos in Massachusetts is an opportunity for New Hampshire's Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte to make some political hay at the expense of her Democratic colleague just south of the Granite State's border.
About a week before the announcement of Operation Patriot, Ayotte signed two anti-sanctuary city bills into law, fulfilling a campaign promise.
The New Hampshire Bulletin reported that "The bills (House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 62) seek to prevent so-called sanctuary cities, or localities that have laws hindering local law enforcement from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement of federal immigration laws."
The publication reported that after signing the legislation into law, Ayotte took a swipe at Healey, saying, "This is something we ran on to make sure that New Hampshire would not go the way of Massachusetts and their billion-dollar illegal immigration crisis."

It's not the first time Ayotte has taken a potshot at Healey. In a March X post, Ayotte accused the Massachusetts governor of being "soft on crime."
"While Massachusetts continues their soft-on-crime policies, we're keeping our communities safe," she posted. "Tomorrow, I will sign a law to fix our broken bail system and shut the revolving door for violent criminals."
In the same post, Ayotte wrote "Next, we'll also ban sanctuary cities in our state." It seems the governor was true to her word.
