MARSHFIELD — State and local police are investigating a double homicide in Marshfield that does not appear to be random, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

The D.A.'s office said in a tweet Wednesday morning that the double homicide involves a man and a woman, although no further details about the victims were disclosed.

WCVB reports police responded to a home on Gotham Hill Drive at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the D.A.'s office, preliminary investigation reveals that the fatal incident "does not appear to be a random act of violence."

The office noted that the double homicide remains under active investigation by state and Marshfield police.
