PLYMOUTH (WBSM) — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash this morning in Plymouth after the driver allegedly fled the scene of a domestic violence incident.

Domestic Violence Call Sparks Police Response

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Plymouth Police received a 911 call at about 9:37 a.m. today reporting a domestic violence incident. Officers arrived to find the male suspect had left the scene driving a blue Volvo. The vehicle was later located and police pursued it along Route 3 North before ending the pursuit because the driver was operating the Volvo erratically.

At 9:46 a.m., a 911 call reported a blue Volvo driving erratically on Route 3 South. A minute later, Plymouth Police received a 911 call for a report of a two-car, head-on crash at 232 Warren Avenue.

One Driver Dead, Another Injured

First responders arrived at the scene, and the driver of the Porsche Macan involved in the crash was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The man driving the Volvo was pronounced deceased at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He is not being identified at this time, the D.A.’s Office said.

Investigation Ongoing in Plymouth Crash

The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s office.
