I've got some news about the blues, the godfather of every modern genre from rock and roll to pop, jazz, country and folk. The late, great blues singer, Etta James once said, "You can't fake this music. You might be a great singer or a great musician but, in the end, that's got nothing to do with it. It's how you connect to the songs and to the history behind them."

Mark T. Small understands that "connection" and his music reflects his brilliance that takes him back over 40 years of playing music and learning to play fiddle tunes on the guitar in the styles of Doc Watson and Norman Blake.

From his early start with his own Chicago style blues band, the Lonesome Strangers, the band was a favorite staple on the New England club circuit for years. Mark T. Small has played on the bill with Johnny Winter, James Cotton, Toots and the Maytals, Jonathan Edwards, Shor'ty Billups and James Montgomery, to list a few.

Just recently, Mark won the coveted Best Blues Album of 2014 by the prestigious Blues Blast Magazine for his smokin' blues album! He is the consummate, electrifying performer who breathes in new life to his songs. Just before his sold-out show, "The Small-Dillon Concert" featuring Mark T. Small and Eddie Dillon at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford, Mark brought in his acoustic guitar and smoked the airwaves with pure blues magic!
