MATTAPOISETT — A luxury car was found damaged and abandoned over the weekend near a Mattapoisett landmark.

Members of the Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a report of an apparent motor vehicle accident near Ned's Point Lighthouse on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters found a black Maserati on the shoreline near the lighthouse. In a Facebook post, Mattapoisett Fire Rescue stated the car was "soon to be submersed[sic] in the water."
