The Dartmouth Police Department posted this photo along with a story about true kindness on Thursday, April 11.

"After seeing the story about the purse snatching that occurred on Monday, April 8, Chris Payton (second from the left) of Smoke Clean Restoration, contacted me and asked if I could facilitate a meeting between him and the victim, Alice Costa (second from the right). The purpose of this meeting was so that Mr. Payton could present Mrs. Costa with a very generous gift from the owner of his company (the Pomeranse family) to help her recuperate some of the loss which she incurred during the incident.

After putting the two of them in touch, it was decided that they would meet at DPD this morning. As you can imagine from doing this job, we sometimes need moments such as this to restore our faith in humanity.

On behalf of Chief Levesque and the members of DPD, we would like to thank Mr. Payton and the Pomeranse family for not only helping us remember that there truly are VERY good people out there but also for helping Mrs. Costa recover from this surely traumatic event."
