Life is full of surprises, so you need to be ready for what life pitches to you. Take for instance, the opening day honorary pitch by Patriots hero Tom Brady. When you see his imperfect throw veer off, then down, a guy dressed in a suit, standing behind Big Papi, jumps out of the way for fear of catching it himself.

Then, there's Deval Patrick who landed a new job. They say politics makes for strange bedfellows. Well, the former Democratic governor has joined the Boston mega firm Bain Capital, founded by his predecessor, Republican Mitt Romney, who was highly criticized for his association with Bain by democrats during his second presidential run.

And finally, an Oklahoma sandwich shop owner left an amazing note for a homeless person after noticing someone had been going through the garbage outside her store. Ashley Jiron wrote a note and posted it in the window of her shop addressed to the person going through our trash, and offered that person a free meal. Life is full of surprises!
