This weekend's Latino Cultural Festival brought hundreds of people from diverse backgrounds together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event was held at Hazelwood Park in the west end for the second year this past weekend. One of the major events was a parade featuring cultural music and dancing.

Crystal was in the park running the pina colada stand and says she's seen a lot of excited people...

Along with the parade, the celebration included live music, local vendors, and lots of Latino food.

The event is organized by the Puerto Rican and Latin American Art and Culture Committee with the aim of raising cultural awareness within the community.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 through October 15.
