A Lakeville police officer was released from the hospital after he and his cruiser were struck by an alleged drunk driver early Saturday.

The officer was investigating an attempted breaking and entering on Clear Pond Road, and getting back into his cruiser when he was struck, according to the Lakeville Police Department. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton where he was treated and released. The officer was not identified.

Middleboro resident Hannah Rink, 21, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, impeded operation, and speeding.

According to The Enterprise, officers responded to Clear Pond Road at about 10:37 p.m. Friday after a man reported a “young kid” had attempted to enter the home through a bedroom window. The man reportedly told police the suspect ran off before gaining access to the home.

Rink is due to be arraigned Monday in Wareham District Court.
