A man who Police identify as a panhandler has been charged with breaking and entering.

Thirty-one year old Thomas Hilderbran was charged with a break into the Grace Corner Mini-Mart on Rockdale Avenue around 1am Wednesday. Police say an unknown number of cigarettes was taken in the break.

Hilderbran was arrested two hours later after he was seen running from a disturbance at Rockdale Avenue and Granite Avenue and police determined he was the same man who broke into the mini-mart.

Det. Capt. Steven Vicente says Hilderbran is a know panhandler at Route Six and 140 who bragged to police about making more money in one day, than police made in a week. He's facing charges of breaking and entering and larceny.
